Press release: NBC and UNDP sign MoU to strengthen Cambodia’s path toward a resilient financial system
On 9 December 2025, the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) issued a statement announcing the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration on financial inclusion, sustainable finance, and digital financial transformation in Cambodia. The partnership establishes a framework for cooperation across three priority areas: promoting the wider use of the Khmer Riel, advancing climate and sustainable finance, and operationalizing digital payment systems. This initiative aligns with Cambodia’s Financial Sector Development Strategy and aims to support the country’s smooth transition from Least Developed Country status by 2029.
